PCBA and Finished Electronics Shipment Support
At SUGA, shipping is considered a vital part of the manufacturing process, not simply an add-on to what we manufacture. PCBA assemblies and finished electronic items must leave our factory with appropriate packaging, complete shipping documents, traceability labels if required, and shipping arranged according to confirmed delivery timing and delivery method requirements.
With logistics capabilities throughout China, Hong Kong, and Vietnam, SUGA can provide flexibility to ship OEM electronic products internationally. You may provide your own carrier or ask SUGA to arrange shipping via express freight, air freight, ocean freight, cross-border trucking, or direct shipping to global end users.
In terms of liability for shipping, SUGA provides multiple ways to decide the preferred responsibility level and the role SUGA should take when coordinating delivery of goods between factories and global destinations.

Shipping Incoterms and Responsibility
SUGA supports a variety of international shipping terms, including EXW, FOB, DAP, and DDP. The final selected Incoterm will be noted in the quotation, order confirmation, or purchase agreement; therefore, prices may differ based on the chosen Incoterm.

Shipping Incoterms and Responsibility
| Incoterm | Responsibility | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|
| EXW – Ex Works | You are responsible for arranging pickup of the goods from SUGA’s factory, export, freight, import customs, and delivery to the final destination. | Clients with their own carrier or logistics provider |
| FOB – Free on Board | SUGA delivers the goods to the agreed export port or handover point; you manage main freight and import. | Ocean or air freight arranged by your carrier |
| DAP – Delivered at Place | SUGA arranges delivery to the designated location, while import duties and taxes are usually handled by you. | Orders requiring more SUGA logistics support |
| DDP – Delivered Duty Paid | SUGA manages freight, customs, duties, and delivery under the agreed scope stated in the quotation. | Door-to-door delivery where full logistics support is required |
Under EXW, you have the most responsibility for managing freight and transportation to the designated location. Under DDP, SUGA has the most responsibility for providing logistics support for transporting the goods. FOB and DAP provide intermediate options.
Freight cost, import duties, taxes, insurance, and customs responsibility are confirmed based on the Incoterm selected in the quotation, order confirmation, or purchase agreement. For high-value PCBA and finished goods, freight insurance can be arranged or requested prior to release.
Global Shipping Modes
SUGA can arrange several international shipping modes, including express freight, air freight, ocean shipping, and cross-border trucking between Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Vietnam. Once production is complete and goods are packed, SUGA can review delivery details before the shipping method is selected.

For appointed carriers, SUGA will also assist by coordinating pickup, preparing the cartons, loading pallets, and providing handover information.
China, Hong Kong, and Vietnam Logistics Timelines
One logistics advantage of SUGA lies in the ability to coordinate between different regions, including Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Vietnam, through cross-border logistics coordination.
Logistics routes and estimated timelines between Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Vietnam are listed below.
China, Hong Kong, and Vietnam Logistics Timelines
| Route or Process | Typical Reference | Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Mainland China customs e-handbook registration | As fast as 2 hours | Faster export preparation when cargo data is ready |
| Mainland China automated customs clearance | As fast as 1 hour | Shorter release time under suitable customs conditions |
| Hong Kong and Mainland China transfer | Within 1 working day | Supports urgent material import, export, and cargo release |
| Vietnam customs clearance | About 12 hours | Supports Vietnam production and local delivery preparation |
| China / Hong Kong to Vietnam regular material movement | Weekly ocean freight; about 8-10 days | Suitable for planned material replenishment |
| Urgent China-to-Vietnam cargo transfer | Less than 48 hours | Suitable for urgent materials or equipment under suitable routing conditions |
Drop Shipment to Global End Users
SUGA provides support for drop shipment from Hong Kong, Mainland China, or Vietnam directly to end users for global orders. Drop shipment eliminates the need for additional handling at warehouses and therefore shortens the shipping time to final destinations. Additionally, drop shipment can support regional distribution in an efficient manner.
Drop shipment is optimal for direct delivery when:
- Finished products are designated for direct delivery.
- Intermediate warehousing should be avoided.
- Goods are shipped from China, Hong Kong, or Vietnam.
- Carton labels, shipping marks, and commercial documentation must match the receiving process.
Protective Packaging for PCBA and Finished Electronics
Key packaging considerations for electronic products include protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD), moisture, impact, carton collapse during transport, and damage that could occur during long-distance transport. The type and quantity of each product will determine how SUGA packages the product for shipping, as well as where the product is going and how the product will be shipped to its final destination.
Typical Packaging Configurations
Different levels of packaging protection are used depending on the type of product being packaged.
| Product Type | Typical Packaging | Protection Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Bare PCBAs | ESD bag, vacuum bag, desiccant, humidity indicator card | Prevent damage from ESD and moisture |
| Assembled PCBAs | ESD bag, blister tray, EVA foam, EPE / EPS foam | Prevent damage from ESD and provide physical separation between products |
| Finished Electronic Products | Inner box, carton divider, pulp tray, custom carton | Protect the product surface from damage and provide stability within the carton |
| Bulk Orders | Pallet, stretch film, corner protector | Protect cargo during long-distance transport and warehouse handling |
PCB Packaging Process

Step 1: ESD and Moisture Protection
Once the quality checks have been completed on all PCBs, they will be placed in vacuum packaging along with a humidity indicator card and a desiccant inside each vacuum bag. Depending on the board size, 10–25 PCBs may be placed in each vacuum bag, and the vacuum packaging standard will be used as the basis for the overall packaging of the PCBs.
Step 2: Carton Loading and Inner Protection
The vacuum-packed boards will be placed in cartons with surrounding foam for the physical protection of the boards. The maximum weight per carton will be limited to 15 kg.
Step 3: Carton Sealing and Labeling
The cartons will be sealed to prevent damage during shipping. A label containing the part number, order number, quantity, date code, and specified shipping marks will be applied to each carton.
Step 4: Palletizing and Carrier Handover
Where applicable, cartons will be loaded onto pallets and secured to help transport the cartons over long distances. As part of the shipping process, the details of the shipment will be confirmed against the packing list.
PCBA and Electronic Product Packaging Process

Step 1: Packaging Method Confirmation
Prior to packing a product, SUGA confirms the packaging method used for the product, based on the following factors: type of product, quantity of product, cargo weight, delivery destination, and shipping method. As such, there are varying levels of protection needed depending on whether the product is a bare PCBA, an assembled PCBA, a finished electronic product, or a bulk order.
Step 2: ESD and Moisture Protection
Once all the required quality checks have been completed on the product, the PCBA is packaged with ESD protection, and moisture-sensitive products are packaged using vacuum packaging with a desiccant and humidity indicator, as required. A standard vacuum pack may hold 10-25 boards depending on their size, sensitivity, and packing requirements.
Step 3: Product Separation and Inner Protection
Inner protection is selected based on product structure, connector height, surface sensitivity, and carton loading method.
Step 4: Carton Loading and Weight Control
High-strength cartons may be used to package PCBAs or finished goods with adequate internal support to ensure stability during transport and handling. Where practical, SUGA controls standard carton weight to a maximum of 15 kg to provide a safer method of handling products and minimize handling damage during freight transfers.
Step 5: Traceability Labeling and Document Matching
Traceability labels are generated from SUGA’s production system and can be printed for both inner boxes and outer cartons. Printed information on labels may include part number, order number, quantity, date code, serial number, carton number, and specified shipping marks. Records of label information will be maintained for post-delivery traceability inquiries.
Step 6: Palletizing and Carrier Handover
Cartons for bulk orders can be placed on pallets and braced for long-haul transport. Adequate pallet bracing can improve carton stability during ocean freight, air freight, warehouse transfer, and carrier handling. Before carrier handover, all delivery details will be compared to the packing list and carrier pickup information.
Shipment Release and Tracking
Once the order is released, SUGA will provide tracking information or freight documents based on the selected shipping method.
For express freight or air freight, tracking numbers or air waybill numbers are generally issued on or within 24 hours after carrier pickup. For ocean freight, bill of lading information and vessel details are provided after forwarder or departure confirmation.
If shipping information needs correction before dispatch, consignee information and address, tax ID, import licenses, and any special customs instructions should be confirmed as soon as possible.
Any questions regarding tracking, document corrections, or carrier handover should be directed to the appropriate SUGA sales or project contact.
